Michael Kirk

Michael Kirk retired after serving 29 years as a full-time law enforcement officer. During his career in law enforcement, he worked both as an officer and supervisor in the fields of community relations, investigations, homeland security, and training.
Having a formal education including a Bachelor of Arts degree in Organizational Communication and a Master of Science in Research and Legal Studies, with a concentration in homeland security, he finished his law enforcement career serving for over a decade as a training supervisor for one of the nation’s largest agencies. During this time, he oversaw the development and implementation of agency-wide critical wound care, active shooter responses that integrated tactical medical personnel with law enforcement, first aid and CPR certification, and implementation of electronic tracking for accreditation training, delivery, and records.
As an assessor and supervisor for his agencies Mobile Emergency Management Unit he has taken part in and overseen the operations and assessments for multi-agency disaster relief and recovery exercises guided by the principals of the Department of Homeland Security and FEMA for over two decades.
